urgent enquiry to moderator

urgent enquiry to moderator,


   why do i get this pop up thingie (like you have been chosen to win something bla bla) everytime i open this page? Or is it just me? And if it is common, is there anyway, I /we can do something about it? And since i am technically challenged (like most major hollywood stars), can you please explain simply, sans its complicated computer jargon?

Our computer work well with this site, no pop-up  Bathroom Knocker is  appearing ...may be our blocking system is excellent...Compaq pentium IV... windows XP..

My Computer Brand Pak Aji Mat (Selectweb) AMD Athlon 999Mhz takde pop up tu, but I 'clean' it regularly with Spybot and AdAware, which is a control measure against spyware and adware, which causes pop-ups. Normal anti-virus programs don't pick these up (different algorithms) so it's worth while trying to run these in addtion to the normal AV.

It was written full with cynicism.. ('perli' kata orang melayu)...


Well, i did t-test for my undergrad. aeon ago and now since i am under Humanity, i don't really keep abreast with all those statistical jargons, so i can be forgiven for not knowing.


Since you want to learn grammar, here is the first lesson:


  If you use 'did/does/do' or their negatives (don't, didn't, doesn't), the verb that follows should be in the base form, like for example,  I didn't 'study'...and NOT I didn't 'studied'. Or if you say, she doesn't 'go'  and NOT she doesn't 'goes'. ...ok?


  This is because did, does, and do carry the tenses for the sentences already.

Ala Idlan... spyware and adware lak?  My knowledge so far doesn't go beyond tupperware (I know, it's so seventies ) But really appreciate you enthusiasm to educate me.


 


One more question: when you have accidently deleted (as if relevant) all the pics in your digi camera, is it possible for you to trace them back? (i know you can assume what has happened..)

Actually, these animated icons also contribute to some pop-ups as well. Abang Jem.. kalau dah delete tu, you can pray.. but barring a miracle....


I know of programs that can recover lost files on a computer hard disk, but not from a digital camera / memory cards. I'll let you know if I (ever) find out.

'animated icons' as in smileys that being sent by Deedat? Are the smileys provided on this page contributing to pop-ups as well?


Barring miracles? mmm... well, miracles do happen, sometimes. (and oftentimes in Disney World).

The pop-up for smiley central will occur as long as the reciever didn't install it in their computer. (Apologize for that !) Once installed, be peace in mind, it will not  bother all participant  user....biasa la win-win situation...

Here is a 911 help on  the spyware/alien-ware/pop-up problem. If you have Windows XP installed, update the latest Service Pack 2. It should do the trick. If you're using other than XP...

The ISS have advised students NOT to install SP2 just yet, as there are potential conflicts with applications like Norton Anti Virus

Assalammualaikum Sitah,


  My agent, Jem Aziz Esquire, called me last night. He said that his effort was in vain, as he was asked to log on as the administrator since he was using the comp. in the lab. Do you have any better solution? Please don't suggest pay raise for him, being a highly principled man with steadfast dignity that he is, he will not accept my effort to raise a check.
